Aug 4th, 2018Ruby in color with a reddish rim.
Nice nose of black currants, plums, bell pepper, cherries, oak, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, espresso, chocolates, peppercorn, wet leaves, spices, vegetables, herbs, graphite and earth.
Medium plus in body and smooth, with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, cherries, blueberries, wood, cloves, vanilla, spices, espresso, cola, vegetables, leather, chocolates, tobacco, beef jerky and black pepper.
Medium plus on the finish with soft tannins and tangy cherries.
This Single Vineyard Chilean Carmenère is very enjoyable by itself or with food. Well balanced with mild complexity and a nice mouthfeel. Fruity with lots of vegetable notes. Smooth and elegant with a tangy finish.
Needs 2 hours to open up properly and show some tannins and complexity.
I paired it with cheeses and light appetizers.
13.4% alcohol by volume.
$20.
