A good showing but not the best. The 22 laps this. Elegant and succulent with grip, depth and structure but seemed a bit thin compared to the 22. @Delectable Wine this is from Germany and not France. It’s from Franken.

Nose has some mild toasty oak and green apple, huge Puligny like minerals and iodine. This smells like Puligny 1er Cru. Like a dead ringer. Wow that palate is stunning. Lots of fruit skins and like citrus and green apple plus tangerine and apricot but all on a bed of intense minerally. Extreme concentration and terrific finesse. Long and sapid but needs mega mega air. It’s all there. The acid is on point and there are crazy inner mouth confectionary aromas. This also at one point Grand Cru Chablis and at another point elite 1er Cru white burg. As this airs it gets so savory and has that chardonnay mineral sweetness one only finds in the best. Let’s see where air takes this. This wine is an exercise in restraint. It’s so classy and super subtle. As it airs out the palate is all fruit skins and huge power and depth. Still seems young.

Nose: gorgeous field of white flowers. Lemon flowers. More dense as it opens. A hint of apricot skin. Just a hint to add complexity. Some sea breeze. Like a mist of it. A perfect perfume. Intense but not obtrusively so. Inviting but not insisting.

Palate: so elegant. White flowers. Sweet minerals. Memory of a sweet lemon.

Chablis but more elegant and ephemeral. Top end aromatics and elegance but less dense than a grand cru.

Singular.

As this opens you get more of that grand cru elegant rich roundness. Super bright.

In the running for the best german chardonnay. Certainly the best old school Burgundian style one.
