Sep 9th, 2019Intense ethyl acetate and toluene nose. Black pepper and a lot of heat. Oak finish with subtle caramel and vanilla. To be totally honest, while good, this whiskey is too bombastic and one dimensional. I think Bulleit Rye is at least as good at a quarter of the price. I look forward to trying the older Boss Hog.

Aug 5th, 2017OK, I mostly mix Rye for cocktails by this is like a "sipping whiskey". 2 small ice cubes to 3 fingers (otherwise, at 100 proof too overwhelming). Taste the barrel aging, a bit of spice, unreal chocolate finish. Yes, worth the price. BIG smile.
