Translates to “The Vines Next Door,” pale lemon with aromas of tropical fruits and blossom notes. On the palate flavors of peach, ripe melon and citrus with notes of honeysuckle. Aged on lees for 7 months giving a beautiful mouthfeel, medium+ finish ending with fruit and floral character. Very Nice.

Back with another entry-level Cuilleron...
Having enjoyed this wine’s siblings the Syrah and Marsanne recently (two of the best value wines I’ve discovered this year) I thought the logical progression was this Viognier. Though this didn’t have quite the aromatic charm of Condrieu nor the depth and intrigue of the Marsanne I tried, it was still a solid white that did nothing wrong. At £19/btl, though, I’d prefer to spend a fraction more and get a white Saint-Joseph.

After a clunker of a ‘16, here’s a textbook ‘18. Exotic and flowery, but neither overripe nor overelaborated. Cuilleron isn’t the most consistent of growers, but when he’s on, he’s on.
