Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla began to produce quality wines from an indigenous varietal, Trebbiano di Lugana, and passed down through the generations. A blend of 80% Corvina, 10% Rondinella, 10% Oseleta and Croatina. Medium Ruby with aromas of dried berry fruits, sweet and smoky notes with pleasant herb spice. On the palate flavors of ripe currants and sweet blackberries with cacao, spice, oak and nutty tones. Fine tannins, long complex finish ending slightly creamy with cedar notes. Starting to drink well now, enjoy over next 4-5 years.

Dark, floral, elegant and surprisingly savory, the 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico makes itself known as crushed stone gives way to a dusting of confectioner’s sugar, dried flowers, black cherries, plums and hints of licorice. This is velvety yet cool-toned and spry, with a staining mix of red and black fruits contrasted by sweet spices, as bitter hints of espresso bean and round tannins collect toward the close. A twang of balsamic-tinged blackberry and violets echoes through the long-drawn-out finale. Youthfully structured and still a bit reserved, but there are layers of primary complexities to keep the experience highly enjoyable today. That said, the best is yet to come. Red cherry chocolate, raisins and a bit earthy. Big power wine.

Day 2: Sweetness has become more pronounced.

I feel like this is a full bodied wine, with cherry forward and heavy tannins. I had it with tenderloin and it was great

2018. Fruit forward with licorice, prunes and cherries on the nose. Ruby color. Great wine for pre dinner appetizers. Tannins open up as you drink it. Presence of barrel wood.

Aroma with drying up raisin with sugar. But it has plum sour taste in concentrated dry up raisin flavor. Is it feature of this winery? Ripassa has similar flavor. 2015 @1333/375, xiaduo - , 220305-220325

Dark ripe black Cherry, plum and smoked wood. Dark chocolate, leather and spices - this is ageing nicely!
