Crazy tropical, toasted mango and coconut nose. Sharp chalkiness, floral exotic notes. Texture is big and round, with a soft carbonation that compliments the brioche-centric, wild, luscious fruit. Perhaps a bit over the top at such a young age, will evolve gracefully. Pretty delicious now. — 7 years ago
Gorgeous, round fruit, some floral notes, with a chalky minerality. Sharp, clean, but gets rounder with time and more nervy. Gets waxy and lightly roasted, even, with time. An otherworldly Sauvignon for sure. — 7 years ago
Toasted rich brioche and marzipan, tropical notes, some minerality. Flavor is round, fruity, nearly off-dry if it weren’t for the classic Vertus nerve, with a pleasant if lighter carbonation than their other wines. Fourny at a more decadent level for NV. — 7 years ago
This is always a treat: toasted spices, round bright fruit, chalky minerality. Fruit and spice shine through, but it’s more nervy, mineral, and sinister at the finish. Lots of prettiness as opposed to decadence. Will age extremely well. — 7 years ago
Tart, brambly berries, forest floor, stoniness. This is a snappy, crisp Beaujolais Cru for the vintage. Crisp and lightly tart and delicate, with a peppery and earthy finish but overall very clean and light on its feet. Wonder if it could evolve more? — 7 years ago
Aged 1.5 years. Far less sharper nose, with light nutty and spicy notes but overall pure chalky fruit. Texture is clean, nervy, delicate, but round and pleasant. This is such a straightforward Champagne - so much wine geeky minerality to speak of here. Awesome stuff. — 7 years ago
Cherried, chalky, mineral forward nose. Big fleshy fruit with a snappy texture, less carbonation than expected, but the long maceration comes through to good results. Drinks more like a serious red in a way, but quintessentially Vertus. — 7 years ago
Big citrus, white pepper, light spices, herbs. Full on the palate, with a light nervy drive and a pleasant, spicy finish. More minerality than fruit at this point. Still a little hot. I’ll give it another year or two. — 7 years ago
Floral, exotic fruit, with some yeasty elegance at the finish. Crisp, delicate, and snappy on the palate, with roundness that gets fuller with time. Getting better and better each year. — 7 years ago

Delicate red fruit, oxidative spices, nutty notes, sharp wet stones. Flavor is fleshy and fruity, with dried mineral notes making things interesting. Lightly nutty and herbaceous, with a wooden, earthy finish. Pleasant, light carbonation. What a fascinating, unique wine. — 7 years ago
