Yummy yummy. A Syrah literally anyone could enjoy and not expensive either! Dried cherries, ripe plum, forest floor, pine sap, pepper spice. Everything is nice: vibrant, young, polished, characterful, zippy, versatile. On the lighter side with a little dusty tannins to keep everything up, the long length gives away its power. — 9 years ago
This is the 2013 Birthal - 30 year old vines from Austria's northernmost wine growing region. Delicate floral nose with a little white pepper and fresh lime. Balanced acid, subtle, would be perfect with oysters, fresh scallops, or even something like a wild mushroom tart. — 9 years ago
Damn, a Napa Cab that I can get behind. Deep and dark without the blowout. Lots of blackberries, mocha and vanilla. Some cool herbs like sage and rosemary come in with a little preserved black olive on the finish. Excellent use of the additional grapes Petit Verdot and Malbec. — 8 years ago
Gave this a whirl with a medium rare steak. Lots of energy after 8 years, acid is vibrant, tannins are still settling in, rose scented, ripe cherries and plums, a classic wine. Would love to try an older vintage sometime. — 9 years ago
