@Delectable - this PN is from different regions in CA but it showed seamlessly. guess i was ready to dislike this as mass produced plonk, but i was pleasantly surprised: inky w/cherries galore on the nose but also some tea & sassafras, bit of earthiness too - smooth on palate, generous, silky and balanced leading to decent finish. there is no distinct terroir and it's primarily fruit driven but it hit the spot on a weeknight and offers solid QPR — 6 days ago
Never heard of this varietal — quite dark for new release, orchard fruit & flowers on the nose, but the palate was electric — jolt of acidity bordering on slight frizzante. Mineral & saline on palate, reminded me of some Greek whites from the islands. Intriguing, needs proper food pairing or hot summer day quaffing — 10 days ago
always enjoy Dolcetto from Dogliani and i've had this producer's Barolo but this was a bit of a letdown. reductive nose, some fruit, spice & dried herbs but never really came around - palate was decent but some astringency on finish. too much rusticity — 17 hours ago
continuing in the vein of unusual Italian wines, we thoroughly enjoyed this 10 yr old Teroldego from Tuscany of all places: pouring a deep rich ruby, partially opaque with copious quantities of red fruit on the nose, some dark berried fruit as well, licorice, dirt & soil, peppery goodness some dried herbs and so on. complex and engaging, med bodied on palate, more fruit & spice, fleshy mild tannins and smooth finish - other than color, not showing its age. — 8 days ago
Ask the wine guy for something interesting, something unusual, and he hands me this: Nero d’Avola, Sagrantino, Teroldego and Sangiovese from AUS. It was fantastic! A whirling dervish of aromas and flavors — solid tannins, juicy acidity and impressive finish. Very engaging balance of fruit & terroir driven elements. — 13 days ago
i asked for something interesting & unusual and this was suggested: southern Rhône varietals from CA, and it was fantastic! pours a deep rich ruby, opaque and wafting a cornucopia of aromas, intoxicating: first it was all exotic spices like clove & incense, garrigue, then it was cherry compote then it turned to raspberry pie, dried orange rind, dried herbs, pepper, etc. My first CA wine that smelled like high end CdP - liquified distilled voluptuous aromas & flavors. palate was so jam packed, med bodied, finely grained tannins, silky & suave - balanced acidity. screams old vine fruit handled well — 5 days ago
almost 4 yrs since we last opened one of these and it's still peaking - so aromatic our kids yelled "Apricot" from across the kitchen. much more pronounced orchard fruit than years past, honeyed, just absolutely decadent with impressive acidity, structure & length — 9 days ago
Inky wafting dark fruit, cocoa and vanilla. Decadent nose followed by a smooth silky palate with gobs of fruit, built for the international consumer and wine critics… my only complaint is no one would guess Cab Franc. No herbaceousness, no pepper, fruit was black & blue as opposed to red, no varietal typicity, but that is just my opinion. Still delicious — 14 days ago

shows inky - no signs of age, black & red berried fruits on the tart side, some of that cool climate lifted note, all business on palate, full bodied, currants & cassis, bay leaf, cocoa, mellow rich flavors, smooth tannins & lingering finish. — 17 hours ago
