Drinking perfectly for the vintage. This has huge black cherry and licorice with a powerful mineral finish. There's nothing like Saint-Emillion merlot but Figeac also uses an unusually high percentage of Cabernet which makes this wine bold and dense. — 9 years ago
I may be biased having visited this Chateau but to me this is one of my favorite whites. Delicious citrus and a hint of smoke. — 9 years ago
Thick black fruits and a nice smooth finish. A crowd pleaser for sure. — 9 years ago
I typically stay away from 2011 altogether but this is delicious. Drinking perfectly right now, I get big vanilla, black cherry, and coffee with structured tannins and great balance. — 9 years ago
Very pleasant easy drinker that was a hit with everyone tonight. Less acidic and dark for a Pinot with strawberry and cherry and a very smooth finish. — 9 years ago
This wine really hits the mark for me. Great minerality with not so subtle hints of pineapple and tropical fruits. Super smooth finish. — 9 years ago
Great starter wine for Christmas Eve. Truffle cheese, salami, and a beautiful Chardonnay from one of my favorite wineries. — 9 years ago
This was probably still 5 years away from being perfect but I couldn't help it. Powerful nose with loads of black fruits. Big but structured tannins with a very smooth finish. Paired perfectly with my filet and potato and bacon hash. — 9 years ago
I only rate this so high because of how well it went with the turkey that I smoked on the Big Green Egg. A nice value wine too. — 9 years ago

One of my favorite chateaus when we were in Bordeaux and the first that we visited. Still lots of layers to this beautiful Paulliac gem but it leans just enough towards the earthy notes of truffle and tobacco in addition to the typical wet rock and licorice. Just paired this with a truffle smoked ribeye, roasted carrots, and smashed cauliflower with a light gravy. Wishing this was a 3-liter and the weekend had a few more days. — 9 years ago
