Domaine Jamet

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2012

Amazing vintage for Jamet that you can drink now but will continue to develop for many years. Consistent with my many prior notes showing lots of dark cherry, raspberry, meat, blood, olive, pepper, spice & crushed violets — 9 days ago

Château La Nerthe

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2005

Pretty. Ripe fruit, fruit roll up, amazing minerality/almost rock filled stream mouthfeel, herbal, dried flowers and nice acid. — 24 days ago

Château de Saint-Cosme

Côtes du Rhône Syrah 2010

2010. It seems my two bottles (first drank Dec 2022) were on the good side of the like it or hate it split with this one being even better integrated than my last. Pairing with some Memorial Day BBQ. — 9 days ago

La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2013

Medium ruby in color; blackberries, plums, dried herbs, and baking spices on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like lavender, blueberries, dark chocolate, camphor, graphite, and clay pots with a long finish. Even more complex after an hour long decant. I love this wine. Paired well with a steak. Nellie liked it with steak. — 7 days ago

Domaine Jean-Louis Chave

L'Hermitage Syrah 2016

A treat as I haven’t had a chave in a long time. A little young at this point but worth opening if you enjoy more fruit. Super elegant and relatively light in texture. — 10 days ago

Chaillot Cornas Syrah 2020

Already so good! Chaillot is much easier to drink young than the more concentrated and rich Reynard. 2020 Chaillot is gorgeous, perfumed and mineral with layered, vibrant fruit and liquid rock minerality. Beautiful wine and perfect with lamb ribs frites for lunch! — 18 days ago
