Garnacha Mítica Campo de Borja 2013
It's a hot night & im having some beautiful Sherpa & goats milk based cheeses & my reliable pal Jorge Ordonez has this promising White Viura packaged under the Borsao label (very trusty old vine Garnacha!). Wow! This wine was perfect. A little bit of barrel aging kissed with a scent of citrus but full of beautiful fruit with a perfect mellow acid backbone give this wine a structure that is far superior to its $8 price.... I don't know how long one can shelf this stuff but buy a case for summer quaffing.... A great wine! Thank you Jorge & to Leonardo Loscasio... Thanks for supporting Jorge's selections! — 9 years ago

One of my favorite general beers, esp in the barrel aged or pale ale categories. Also, to say The Porter in Atlanta has one of the best beer selections in the world would not be an understatement. — 10 years ago
Domaine de Montille
Le Clos du Château Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018
Nose has pear slice, orange zest, various under-ripe stone fruits, pineapple core and yellow flowers; not overly expressive at this time.
Palate has tart pineapple, orange peel, slightly chalky, yellow apple and mild barrel flavors (more new than neutral?). Decent finish, but seems a little closed here as well.
90m decant; Note to future self, check again 2022-23-ish.
Winery Notes:
"Le Clos du Château" is essentially a vineyard of approximately five hectares that sits in front of the Château de Puligny and is entirely enclosed by walls. This facilitates our bio-dynamic farming methods.
Classified as Bourgogne AOC, this vineyard is remarkably well situated in the village on the border of the Puligny-Montrachet vineyards. The deep soil, consisting of silt and clay gives the wine a lovely generosity.

On the Lawn at Tanglewood this evening with the the Boston Pops Orchestra. Our Conductor Keith Lockhart is leading an all John WILLIAMS program, with Mr. Williams (hopefully) sharing some of his wonderful stories to accompany the scores.
The program includes selections from..Superman, Heidi, Jaws, The Towering Inferno, Memoirs of a Geisha Oliver, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Olympic Fanfare & Theme, JFK, Schindler's List, The Witches of Eastwick, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Empire Strikes Back, The Force Awakens and...Star Wars. It is called Bangmakok and it is a Thai rice wine. Nothing like the Japanese sake but this slightly barrel fermented rice wine tastes like a white port more than anything. It is a truly interesting rice wine to try. Bo lan has a unique selections of drinks. — 6 years ago

Nose is lovely pink roses. As it opens its integrated with gorgeous old sweet wood. The roses are more intense. Penetrating. Stunning. Am hour in just dusty gorgeous roses.
Palate is bright delicious early season cherries. Wow. As it opens such sweet cherry - you can see the after effects of barrel age. That subtle roundness.
As it open further the palate is perfect sweet cherry. Absolutely delicious. That elegant licorice. Wow. $100+ in barolo. At least. You have to be mad not to be drinking alto Piemonte wines.
It tastes old. Old and beautiful. My god. What an experience for $40ish.
