DRC La Romanée-Conti 1996: every whiff, every taste bud was permeated with black fruit, rose petals, and hoisin. Laser-like purity and focus of flavors, with a bright vibrancy and finely-grained tannins that presage ethereal returns well into the future. They say perfection doesn’t exist, but this #wine drives its Benz “Gullwing” right up to the edge. — 10 years ago

I love this #wine. It's very #powerfulwine and some say that they don't feel as if they could drink more than a couple glasses...I disagree. I'm not a fan of the new label. It seems as if a child made it and while what they might be going for is "the signature of an artist" it doesn't transmit elegance and power which for me is what this wine is all about. This wine is like a Daimler-Benz. #rioja #riojapower — 9 years ago
Wonderful! I am a Mosel head, but good Alsace still takes the cake for me. Weinbach is like Mercedes-Benz of Alsace (together with Trimbach and maybe even Hugel at times) — huge in size, great in quantity and most importantly consistent in high quality of production and has long and noble history. And this bottle is a great example (while atill being affordable) of all that combined and bottled in a gorgeous flute. — 9 years ago
My friend Jerzy remarked, "Smells like the inside of a Mercedes Benz." Leathery and elegant. Just what an old wine should be. — 10 years ago

Pinot in a Riesling bottle! The Winery is close to Stuttgart less than 20 Miles from Porsche and Mercedes-Benz in Württemberg/Germany. There is a ton of fruit in this, quite dark. More Oregon than Burgundy. Super elegant. Tannins fully resolved. Dark cherries, hint blueberries and crushed marble, touch orange juice. Drink now. Given the diversity of terroir altitudes/mountains and different styles and affordability Germany is now in my opinion the leader in Pinot Noir and this is another prime example.
