A very competent Rioja Reserva recommended by an Argentine friend for tapas meal out. Bright & confident in its cherry & vanilla notes, with enough barrel age to round it out & give some balsamic- as in aged, quality balsamic-depth. When this wine was made in 1976 I was -10 years old. A real treat to drink a 49 year old wine in this kind of superb condition. Hand carried back from San Sebastián. The fruit is still very pure, so well integrated, and still has freshness mixed in with its age. — 25 days ago
