Based in the Rioja municipality of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. A 100% Tempranillo, dark red, almost purple with aromas of ripe berry, floral and spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry with citrus notes, cacao and tobacco. Balanced and complex with savory smooth tannins, but with enough grip to let age, lingering finish ending with a fruit and earthy spice. Wow! Very nice. Should continue to age well. — 7 years ago
Beautiful wine, balanced, concentrated, focused. — 7 years ago
Fantastic! Expressive in the nose, with dark cherries, plums and toffee notes. Good body, sweet tannins, length. Watch for his wines, truly tremendous — 3 years ago
The 'Que Bonito Cacareaba’ by Bodega Contador is a stunning effort in this vintage. The wine is a compelling blend of 50% Garnacha Blanca, 35% Malvasía, 15% Viura all sourced from head-trained vines gown in a mix of alluvial and calcareous soil from the districts of San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Briones with Rioja Alta. Showing off a golden hue, this exudes a wide range of aromatics, from unripe nectarine to lychee to tangerine zest. The texture is polished and downright unctuous, yeilding flavors of bright pear, pink grapefruit zest, starfruit and lychee that all beautifully connect. This is bright yet highly rich and satisfying. A sensational effort by Benjamin Romeo. Drink 2019-2035- 94 — 6 years ago
Seems like a great wine. It's a little warm now, but fantastic nose and very smooth and complex tannins. — 9 years ago
