Cherries, plums, nice smoothness, mildly earthy. Really tasty — a day ago
Wonderful nose. Velvety on the palate with a nice finish. Not a big Pinot Noir person, but this is great. Enjoying it with fish and shrimp at Roy’s in Maui. — 3 months ago
Every year the pop and pour drinkability of this blend gets better! This year the blend is 60% Mourvedere 25% Grenache and 15% Syrah. My appreciation for the less common primary grape varietals has escalated by Monte de Oro’s wise blending and aging techniques. The nose is slightly shy. The palate is a pleasantly unique balanced combination of fruit and earthy components - with a touch of lingering spice. A near perfect balance of juicy acidity and soft tannins that makes this approachable for most. — 5 months ago
COVID year lockdown vintage. Much brighter and fruitier than earlier years. Can’t believe this is a 100% Merlot. Almost Zinfandel in density and slight rhubarb background notes. Lots of cinnamon and clove forming the structure behind dark cherries licorice and dark chocolate. The finish is long and surprisingly crisp. I like a wine that creates an adventure and although this is slightly sweeter than my usual - this is a fun adventure. — 3 days ago
So good. Ready now. Forest floor. Herbs, tobacco. Dried red cherry. Background cranberry. — 20 days ago

Fun blend of Grenache Mourvèdre Petite Sirah Merlot and Malbec. First day seemed to be dominated by the Perite Sirah but by day 2 it was smooth silky and loaded with layers of fruit flavors and spices and a touch of medium-dark chocolate with a long smoky finish. Think of a box of the old time Christmas chocolate covered cherries with a cream filling your grandmother had - but with a nice alcohol punch - or maybe a young port - and that’s what this is. — 10 days ago

Excellent pop and pour drinkability with bold and complex fruit and spice full bodied flavor. Enjoyed on a warm early spring evening on the patio. — 4 months ago

I generally like canary island reds ie listan negro quite a bit. This one veered a bit too austere for me. Some nice refined dark fruit and a lot of peppery herbs. Mouthfeel and finish are slightly thin, but the acid is certainly there and this still feels complete and well made. Just not quite giving enough. — 10 days ago
