Only white, non-dessert, sent over by Mayo Family Winery. Very light and clear golden yellow. Very tight on the nose, almost non-existent at first. Then finally opened up to some light tropical fruits, white fruits, a slight floral undertone and nuttiness. Definitely drier that expected. Some grass and green notes as well as light citrus and green apples. Moderate acidity (5/10) but strong attack. Light bodied and moderate finish. Drink till 2019. — 8 years ago
This 13 year old Sonoma Cabernet Sauvignon is very tasty. Showing black fruits with earth, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, leather, wet leaves and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Tangy long finish with round tannins.
The nose is showing its age, not too much on the palate. Shows great complexity and mouthfeel.
This Single Vineyard is good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up and shows the big tannins (1 hour).
Still has a lot of power in it for at least another 5 years.
100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
14.2% alcohol by volume.

What better wine to pop open on Cinco de Mayo than one from Mexico! The "mystery" grape here is thought to be either dolcetto or carignan, but I'm not sold on either, personally. Regardless, there is definite funk on the nose, but not too barnyard-y. Also got red licorice. Nice flavors of cranberry and Cherry Coke on the palate. Cool wine! 100% Unknown varietal. 5/5/22. — 3 years ago
