Moulin à Vent Gamay 2020

N: brambly red berries and dark cherries, pink flowers, light woodsy notes, white pepper

Delightful w roast chicken

3/4/23 adding in light vanilla and hints of candied cherry.
Also worked nicely with spiced butternut squash.

Collection réZin Pacalet + Lapierre Cousins Juliénas Gamay 2017

Juicy, generous, structured. The nose is layered with summer berries & savory aromatics. The fruit dominates the palate at first, but some fresh textures emerge with air. Two great names creating a great wine. — 4 years ago

Vieilles Vignes Chénas Gamay 2019

Really fine Bojo. Nose has deep, pure, ripe, zingy dark cherry fruit, plus loads of crushed granite, along with a slight note of animal fur. Round and mouthfilling, yet light on its feet, there’s an initial whack of fruit followed by a finish the turn much more stony as it extends. Pretty good acids. Just a tad more concentration would place this among the elites, but as it is it’s delicious. — 2 years ago

Chiroubles Gamay

Nature Gamay of very good quality, in the spirit of Marcel Lapierre (his nephew has told me). At the same time greedy, accessible, and with a very beautiful aromatic density which unfolds especially when one gives the wine time to air out. Superb for its price.
