Decided I needed a little Savoie with my dinner, which led me easily to @domainedechevillardsavoie. Apples and baked apple aromas give way to a lemon pith and crushed stone that has some butterscotch emerging along with candied grapefruit. Fantastic acidity, of course. What was liquid stone in its youth is gaining some richness as it ages. So goes Jacquere in its middle age. — 3 years ago

A pretty and soulful Pinot Noir from the Savoie. Definitely has its share of Brett but stays just this side of manure, letting the fruit shine with potting soil and herbs lingering in the finish. — 5 years ago

#6 of Jura Savoie evening
Dark & broody with dark berry fruit (blackberry, mulberry) with some earthy notes and a healthy dose of graphite. Very Gamay, Morton, Brouilly style.
On the palate this has a a firm tannic frame, yet with juicy tannins and good dark plum & mulberry fruit. Nice acidity freshness and a mineral, fresh note.
Needs at least 2h decanting but then is so drinkable. A lovely wine! — 3 years ago
