2020 vintage. Premier cru and Monopole vineyard. Medium-heavy body. Some aged/golden flavors already present. Not the cheapest Beaune but this is banging and matches plenty of Meursault, Chassagne or Puligny in strict terms of dollars for the delivery. Can’t say I’m the biggest fan of large Burg houses but they occasionally surprise you. This is one of those said occasions. This is a fresh, snappy berry-driven rosé with delicate floral notes. It's bright and crisp, delicious with or without food. Domaine les Pins has been family run for five generations. They are a small artisanal producer that oversees every stage of the production from start to finish. They have roughly 30 hectares of Cabernet Franc spread out through the Bourgueil and St-Nicolas de Bourgueil regions. They practice sustainable farming, and each and every vine gets singular attention throughout the year. Vines of an average age of 25 years are planted in sandy, clay and gravel soils. Cabernet Franc makes for an excellent rosé. Not only does it bring an array of new flavors into the pink world, but the wine has depth and weight that a Grenache or Pinot based rosé could never achieve. This lovely little wine has aromas of fresh raspberry and white pepper with a subtle presence of culinary herbs in the background. On the palate it has great weight and a stronger red fruit presence than you might expect. The note of white pepper persists and carries through to the crisp and clean finish. — 3 years ago

Vintage 2021 | Enjoyed over two days, first day with tenderloin Cantonese style with mango, second day with caserecce with oyster mushrooms, garlic, pepper and creamsauce. I served the wine from the fridge, flint minerals in smell, raspberry minerals in taste. Lovely Cabernet Franc. — 7 months ago
