1964 Conterno Barolo. Lunch at Tap while DS was visiting. This bottle came straight from the wine shop in Piedmont and was supposed to be in perfect condition. Very light- almost clear/pink. Not my fave. Not a ton of flavor left to it. — 6 years ago

1985 Domaine Des Chezaux Griotte-Chambertin. Lunch at Tap while DS was visiting. He was super excited abt this wine. Exceptional. Didn’t decant. Drank straight away. — 6 years ago

2013 Lafon Mersualt-Porusots. LACMA group lunch. DS owner. Nice minerality. Great w shellfish. High in acid. — 7 years ago

This is a big fruit forward wine. Probably the best DS I’ve had in awhile and ‘14s. Black licorice on the nose and a lot of baked dark fruit. Palate is well balance. Fruit, acid and great texture. — 4 years ago

1990 DRC Richebourg. Lunch at Tap while DS was visiting. Drank this side by side to the 1985 Griotte-Chambertin. Hard to pick a fave- they were very different. This one had much more fruit and texture to it and I might have favored it slightly. — 6 years ago

1985 Domaine Ponsot Griotte-Chambertin Vielles Vignes. Dinner at Rep w DS, A&L S, McC. Amazing. Clove, leather, dark berries, mineral. Absolutely amazing. Did not decant. — 6 years ago

1964 Louis Martini CS. Lunch at Tap while DS was visiting. Fun to drink this, as he had gifted it to us a couple years ago. Delicious. No decanting. Still had fruit. Lovely. — 6 years ago

1976 DRC Exhezeaux. DS-hosted dinner at N Mal. Decanted. It was not pruney off the gate. Still tons of fruit. Evolved a lot very quickly in the glass. — 6 years ago
