Bruised apple, cantaloupe. Nutty, oxidative. A little more acid would be welcome. Probably be nice with bleu cheese, maybe dark dried fruit. — 4 years ago
2015 drunk in 2021. Nutmeg, vanilla, and blackberry nose. Cherry cola mid-palette, hint of wet tea leaves on finish. Great backbone. — 4 years ago

Pretty wild, like sherry, honey mead-y over fermented  sweetness with orange citrus notes and a lighter finish. Fascinating!
TIL it tastes like sherry because it shares a technique, aging "under flor" which is a layer of yeast that forms in the top of the barrel where a bit of air is purposefully allowed in, that oxidative exposure is responsible for the intense umami, sherry-like flavors — 9 months ago

Vintage 2004 | popped and poured, perhaps it needs more aeration, the nose seems too old, a bit stinky. The taste is 100% correct and very compelling. Paired with filet. — 2 months ago
