Drank 4/29/29. Decent pairing with veggie frittata courtesy of Wine Spectator, but actually preferred the pairing with the whipped ricotta spread I served on the side.
Nose of strawberry, and cranberry. Nicely balanced red fruit with under ripe strawberry, cherry, mineral, medium effervescence, and just a hint of sweetness on the palate. Medium finish. A nice sparkling rose, providing a lower cost alternative to many French sparklers. A crowd pleaser.

Barrel aged for 15 months (60% new and 40% 1 year old), sourced from four sites along Eastside Road: Foss, Calegari, Hunt Ryd, and Lone Oak Vineyards. Dark Ruby with black fruits and sweet spice. On the palate cherry, blackberry and ripe plum flavors with cinnamon spice and alluring soft tannins, still wrapped with nice structure. The finish lingers with a complex ending of cacao and earthy mineral tones. Nice! Tasting Sample! — 9 years ago
Great to pair with seafood. Shared this proseco with family over a bed of oysters. Refreshing, but not too sweet. — 10 years ago

From what I’ve gathered, 2005 was a difficult vintage chez Overnoy. That being said, this was exactly as you might expect - wondrous and complex. Waxen but austere, mineral and slight twang but everything integrated and sewn up. No need to drink now but it is wide open, considering. I’ve also been intrigued to learn about the chemistry of wines like this, and so I ran this on the Foss at the winery:
TA: 7.42g/L
VA: .69g/L
Abv: 12.12%
pH: 3.24
RS: 0g/L
Malic: 0g/L
Lactic: 3.8g/L

A tremendous wine. Needs only a short decant and it was singing!
On a side note, ran it through our FOSS and here's the stats (take it with a pinch of salt).
G/F: 0.1 g/l (value not to be trusted, but trust that it isn't totally dry)
pH: 3.79
TA: 6.2 g/l
Alc: 16.7% (OMG! Doesn't seem that hot)
H2M: 0.0 g/l
VA: 0.47 g/l — 9 years ago
