Very very excellent over 2 days. Cloves on day 2. Ideal thanksgiving wine but would love this for breakfast, lunch and dinner any day of the year. And in a box, and with a fox, and in a house, and with a mouse, etc. — 11 years ago
Just got this in today an drank one for lunch. Hen House chicken tenders. This clearly need some time but will be a steal QPR. Riches up with air, layers and layers of flavor, with oak still sticking out a bit. Nonetheless delicious. — 5 years ago
One of my favorite Aussie Reds! I found this gem for 6$ at Save Mart! — 6 years ago
J J Confuron. Always been a producer I've been fond of. Yes, maybe a bit more forward in style, but a house I trust. First chance to try something with age, and it didn't not disappoint. Amazing earth and hen of the woods style notes. Someone called the 'sock-ey' but I wouldn't go so far. The reamed more of Mother Nature than the man who inhabits her. Would have preferred the bottle for full analysis, but a fun few ounce tastes nonetheless. — 12 years ago
Pre-sideways Napa merlot from parents cellar after they sold the house. Gave it some serious air, maybe 1hr. Drank over the following 60-120 minutes.
👃: raspberry yankee candle burning in a beachside souvenir store. Crushed tart/bitter fruit. Hints of menthol, wet cedar and chocolate.
👄 : umami/hen of the woods mushroom/forest. Some fruit but not much, Boysenberry/blackberry.
Long luxurious woody finish with menthol, chocolate and a bit of tobacco and cedar. Tannins are there but very comfy, mellow and silky.
Very much alive and would’ve continued to age for several years. — 5 years ago
The oldest Cayuse I’ve had thanks to @Steve Anderson and an interesting comparison to what I’m used to from this house. The nose had none of the fox fur funk that I’m conditioned to expect; likewise no black olive tapenade in the taste profile. That being said, I thought it showed really well. Depth, balance and still some marked residual power. A fun chance to see what Cayuse is at age 20. — 6 years ago

Our first time at Boka since the move — and it is just as lovely as we would want it to be… great service: both attentive but also non-intrusive. Solid people watching, and every dish was executed with precision. Kris picked the wine (perhaps with a bit too much assertiveness), though it was an Oregon Pinot from Dundee Hills… and, well, they reign supreme. They deserve the reputation. Thankfully Danny seemed to like it in the end (phew). He would order again! He would buy it for the house! Double phew. Anyway, it’s Danny’s last day of 42 and we are lucky to be in Chicago to enjoy this time with family and friends. And Oregon Pinot ;) — a year ago
