Quinta do Vale Meão

Monte Meão Baga 2013

Rich cherry and black currant nose. Color is purple with a watery thin edge. In the mouth it is not as sweet as the nose is. There is a rather fresh acidity bringing balance. It will be accompanied by the veal cheeks and mash. Looking forward to that.
As the bottle was opened anyhow to use a glass in the stew we already started tasting 😉.

LH Zanini 2020

Marginally better than the prior vintages and most certainly the best Brazilian sparkling wine. Truly good stuff. — 6 months ago

Vale do Bomfim Douro Red Blend 2020

Really tasty wine, had with Spanish tapas. Smell is cherry and a weird bread/biscuit note that smells like a bakery. Full bodied, very fruity. Went well with all the assorted foods. Would love to have again. — 9 months ago

Blue Eyed Boy Shiraz 2018

I can only imagine that the expert reviews are lower because they don’t like the big jammy fruit bombs. But if you do this is an amazing wine. Huge and beautiful. — 4 years ago

Pizzato

Fausto Safra Tannat 2017

His wine is very underrated. At least the 2017 harvest. I apologise to the other folks who scored this wine but this is a delicious wine. I opened the bottle and my wife knew immediately that this was a South American wine and guessed it was a garzon. Honestly, if not better this wine is as good as garzon tannat. Cioccolato, lots of red berries and leather notes. Coffee and a little vanilla on the palate. It is a pity this wine isn’t available in the USA and only 20.000 bottles of this vintage were produced. I will certainly buy it again in my next trip. — 5 years ago
