Some slight funk on the nose, in a very good way. Wet rocks, violets, light baking spices. Better after open for a day. Benchmark Duero for what I can find in the US so far. — a year ago

His wine is very underrated. At least the 2017 harvest. I apologise to the other folks who scored this wine but this is a delicious wine. I opened the bottle and my wife knew immediately that this was a South American wine and guessed it was a garzon. Honestly, if not better this wine is as good as garzon tannat. Cioccolato, lots of red berries and leather notes. Coffee and a little vanilla on the palate. It is a pity this wine isn’t available in the USA and only 20.000 bottles of this vintage were produced. I will certainly buy it again in my next trip. — 6 years ago

i've had this off & on for the past 25 years and it reliably offers copious amounts of fruit along with cocoa, vanilla & other decadent flavors & aromas. Rich cherry and black currant nose. Color is purple with a watery thin edge. In the mouth it is not as sweet as the nose is. There is a rather fresh acidity bringing balance. It will be accompanied by the veal cheeks and mash. Looking forward to that.
