Drank at our Mother’s Day Virtual Wine Tasting with Jamie and Kym. Very nice red blend. — 5 years ago
Jack and Jamie Davies revived the historic vineyards and cellars in 1965. Today, their son Hugh, continues their mission. 100% Chardonnay pale straw color with aromas of stone fruits, floral and citrus notes. A terrific crisp sparkler with crisp apple, peach and lemon flavors, fine mousse with tiny bubbles. Tangy acidity on a long finish ending with a yeasty creamy character. Nice! — 4 months ago

Jamie Slone Wines is a small producer of some fine wines from Santa Barbara County. P1 (a racing term), is a blend of 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and 34% Syrah, aged for 30 months in new and neutral French Oak. Aromas of lively fruit, spice and cedar notes. On the palate fresh fruit flavors cherry and currants with some leather and cacao spice with underlying gentle sweetness. Well balanced, soft tannins, long ending with great mouthfeel. Leave open two hours before consuming. This wine is unusual. Although it is described as a Bordeaux blend, it tastes nothing like Bordeaux or even Malbec (its predominant grape). Instead, it’s a light red wine with an acidic finish. This wine reminds me of Alicante Bouschet or some of the Southern Italian reds. Interesting but not excellent. — 21 days ago
