From Anthony Yount (also makes Kinero in addition to his main gig at Denner), this is a terrific, lighter style of clairette blanche. Has kind of a tight temperature window where it really signs - too warm and you lose the acidity, too cold and you lose the aromatics - but in its sweet spot just below 50 F it’s perfect. Will be interesting to see if it puts on a little weight with another year or two in bottle (which could be cool). — 3 years ago
Also from Friday night. Great fruit on the nose, well balanced, with just enough tannic backbone to keep it interesting. Anthony Yount is making some really good wines at Denner (and if you haven't tried anything from his Kinero label, check it out!). — 8 years ago
This is a terrific wine by Anthony Yount (Denner, plus his other label for his white wines, Kinero Cellars). A blend of syrah, graciano, and grenache, this wine is balanced, has sweet, integrated tannins (even at this young age), and intense berry flavors. Kept evolving in the glass, so I’m sure this will develop for quite a few more years. A terrific wine by a really talented winemaker! — 5 years ago
Wow. Anyone who says a viognier can't age is just WRONG. This is fantastic. Doesn't have the florals that you might expect for a viognier, but after 5 years this wine has evolved to something truly special. Jeff, you would love the petrol character of this wine. Complexity that it did not have upon release, this wine has layers and flavor profiles you would never expect from a viognier. Just goes to show that John Alban (along with Manfred Krankle, Cris Cherry, and Anthony Kinero) are the masters of white Rhones in the central coast. This is an absolute privledge to drink. — 9 years ago
