La Conreria d'Scala Dei

Les Notes Iugiter Priorat Grenache Blanc

A delicate white from Priorat DOQa made with Garnacha Blanca (white Grenache) grapes, very stony, white peach, smooth and gentle from beginning to end. Hints of mandarin peel, elegant and gentle. Short finish but persistent minerality. Quite refreshing and pairs wonderfully with “Paella marinara” (seafood-styled). — a month ago

Les Notes Iugiter Priorat Grenache Blend

This one from Priorat is a gem. The blend really works well together. 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Carignan, 5% Merlot. — 4 years ago

La Conreria Priorat Garnacha Blend

Super yummy! It's like drinking liquid berry jam without the cloying sweetness. Went super well with spinach and chickpeas, albondigas, and patatas bravas. Would love to have this again. — 5 months ago

La Conreria d'Scala Dei

Iugiter Priorat Grenache Blend 2011

Nice value Priorat. Dark in color, nice oxidative rustic nose of crushed dried flower petals, clove, brown sugar, and plums. Palate has a touch of Brett, depth and concentration but also a lively acidity most likely from the Carignan. Medium tannins, medium (+) body, and alcohol is a bit pronounced. Some earthy, mushroomy funk on the palate. Not a bad bottle at all, but not sure it should fetch the $30 price point it goes for. Maybe $20 is more appropriate. — 7 years ago
