Big wine, big fruit, mineral vein, pronounced freshness
A good grip, fairly long and in a balance
Potential to age
Unfortunately 600 grotte(600 caves) has disappeared
I believe this is the last vintage produced
600 are the caves in Chiaromonte where traditionally people would age wine, cheese or cured meats..beautiful part of the world — 4 years ago
Local wine shop has me on this Corsican kick lately for which I am thankful. This wine is deep and intense with dark complexity and a moody dried fruits and herbs combo. — 8 years ago
Frappato and Nero d'avola still a perfect marriage. But in this one the oak was overpowering and out of balance. Either the oak's to new or it needs some more time. Eager to compare this to Grotte Alte by Arianna Occhipinti which is made just north, if it just wasn't sold out everywhere... — 9 years ago
The summer of Lambrusco — 10 years ago
Crisp, fresh, fruity, and refreshing! This wine is a great wine to enjoy on a warm, summer evening. It works with leftover Mexican food, too. :) — 11 years ago
Very complex with a nice acidic and tannic structure. — 8 years ago
I ended up with this bottle of wine after a very good Italian eatery down here in Miami botched an order. It was a trade for the inconvenience - their choice. What a surprise. Light and fruity on the nose with limestone and blackberry. Drinks like velvet. Cherry finish without any bite. What a pleasant win for me. No surprise given I am a very big fan of Sardinian wine — 10 years ago

Very expressive crushed violet, black berries, black olive & a tad saline, licorice, leathery, & burned earth and gamey. Big & lithe with great finish.

Like being on a boat listening to Real Estate! So groovy — 11 years ago
This wine is slightly frizzante upon pouring, the purple bubbles dissipating quickly. A whiff reveals fragrant, ripe cherries and concord grapes. The palate is soft and round, full of fresh fruit, a touch of earth and some tingly acidity. Complexity is not the issue here, as it might be with other Lambruscos. This is an extremely drinkable and food-friendly wine. A true bargain. — 6 months ago
