Le Ragose

Amarone della Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2004

Dark ruby color. Complex aromas and flavors of dried black cherries and black raspberries along with subtle notes of leather, beef jerky and baking spices. Quite dry and persistent but with enough (well balanced) tannins and acidity. A better sipper than a food wine but quite pleasant. Beautiful texture. The passage of time has improved this wine. Le Ragose

Rosso Veronese Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Dry, jammy red fruits, smooth body, high acid, high tannins, really grips and rips the mouth. Long finish, could open up for hours and really mature and develop. Highly recommend decanting this beauty — 7 years ago

Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2020

So talkative in the dried fruit realm—prunes, figs, dried cranberry and figs. The palate has a super texture, slightly grabby tannins but in the way you want to be grabbed, like at the end of a hug on a really good first date. GRAB ME tannins! These do, but politely, and you want them to because they are fine-grained if assertive. The dried fruit plays nicely with cocoa powder and freeze-dried espresso granules (smell them, you’ll see). REALLY good. It grows more herbal with time, too. — 3 months ago

Le Ragose

Valpolicella Classico 2020

Traditional Northeast Italian blend of Rondinella (20%) Molinara (10%), Corvina (50%) and Corvinone (20%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red cherry jam, cranberry, baking spices, Forrest Floor and red/purple flowers. Pallet is rich with flavors of cooked cherry fruit, red currants, baking spices, vanilla and black pepper spice. Relatively light in body style with lively acidity. Smooth tannins. It was the right call to drink this one young. Better on the second day. — 2 years ago
