Just tasted new batch! Pompadour Brut Rosé celebrates the life and times of Madame de Pompadour (mistress of Louis XV) credited with introducing Champagne to the court. Blend of 58% Pinot Noir, 42% Chard, aromas of floral strawberry scents with yeasty notes on fine mousse and bubble flow. On the palate flavors of raspberry and strawberry with vanilla yeasty tones. Well balanced, long ending in true brut style, dry with yeasty mineral character. A joy to drink. Tasting Sample! — 3 years ago

I don’t know this house. They make Cordon Bleu—brut, extra brut, rosé, also a higher level called Princes, and their grand marque is Louis XV, also making a high end Vinotèque from older stock. House was founded in 1837 in Epernay. This is the only one I’ve had, a Cordon Bleu brut. And w 20 years on it, it’s pretty good juice. — 2 years ago

Sipping Fine Wine
Pale lemon color with aromas of citrus, stone fruits and flinty floral earthy notes this morning, vineyards held by Lafond and Ladoucette families since 1787, purchased from daughter of Louis XV. On the palate flavors of crisp apple and lemon citrus with notes of white flowers and garden spice. Medium+ finish, vivid acidity ending with citrus and mineral spice. Nice! — 3 months ago
