Maradei

Dramis 2019

This is actually Dramis Rosso 100% Magliocco from old vines.
Very few bottles produced
It can be served chilled, it actually benefits from it especially during an hot summer.
Dark cherry, tobacco notes, incense(quoting Gina Maradei "it is not magliocco if there is no incense!"), licorice, leather, and of you keep swirling the glass you'll get more ..i just drank then.
Tannin there, but managed so well you can serve it cold. Long persistence with all the perfumes coming back in the aftertaste.
Lovely, as it was visiting the winery🥰

😊variety with great potential, it was finally officially registered as magliocco dolce i believe in 20111, but it has been around this area forever with many different dialectal name: lacrima nera, marsigliera nera, greco nero, arvino sometimes even improperly as aglianico

Aglo Guarnaccia Malvasia Bianca 2016

Guarnaccia bianca and little( it says poca..)Malvasia bianca
Label says DANFORA
in fact it's aged in amphora
Very intriguing, definitely better when room temperature
The nose is complex and it goes from honey to beeswax, from herbs infusion to marzipan, from white plum to fermented ...grape...
It still smells of sea breeze that delivers the scents of thyme, sage and rosemary from the coastal slopes
It reminds me of the mushrooms too and of the forest you go foraging for them
It's quite mellow on the palate, perhaps not refined, but quite fullish and satisfying
Altogether I'd give it another go and i guess it would match well a huge diversity of dishes

Gioia Al Negro

Tiresia Bianco Basilicata Malvasia Chardonnay

Cleaner, enjoyable and more ready for the market than the Maradei DANFORA, but i reckon it is not as typical
I have truly drunk this in no time which is a great sign, but perhaps it is more due to my mindset than my heart
Don't get me wrong i loved it, but i am pondering
This is supposed to be the same wine as the Gioia al Negro Botte 2, but bottled
What's the difference in the making?
The taste is definitely cleaner, but is that a good thing or not?.By the way..Non Vintage
