A brighter Touriga with very nice balance. Excellent value. — 6 years ago
Vinho Branco varietal, Sauvignon Blanc. Safra 2016. 13% vol/acl. So good. Complex and luscious — 3 years ago
Ms. Irene Paiva again shows that she can do no wrong, with this perfectly balanced Carmenere. The style is Bordeaux big, without being too thick or chewy. Lots of dark cherry and currant flavors in a refined fruit-forward mix really make this wine pop as a cocktail sipper. Color me impressed (one again!) — 5 years ago
One of the best wines I've had. Hard to get in the U.S. — 7 years ago
In Montes-Morriles they use the Pedro Ximenez grape to make Fino, not Palamino as they do in Andalucía. I think it makes for a fuller, rounder Fino but it’s still the perfect food & summer drink in the dog days of summer. Raw dough & quinine on the nose, yeast & tonic on the palate- but truly lip smacking delicious. It’s also about 11$, one of the great QPRs. — 4 years ago
This week my Friday's Cabernet fix is a nice surprise from Chile.
Beautiful color of dark ruby with a burgundy rim.
Nice nose of sweet cherries, black currants, oak, licorice, vanilla bean, light vegetables, coffee, chocolates, tobacco, tree bark, molasses and black pepper.
Medium plus in body, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, sweet plums, light vegetables, wood, vanilla, cloves, tobacco, coffee, chocolates and peppercorn.
Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very nice Cabernet from Colchagua Valley. Well balanced with nice complexity and a polished mouthfeel. Tangy finish making it interesting and enjoyable by itself.
A good food wine too. I paired it with a nice piece of steak.
Needs 90 minutes to open up properly and show what it can do, so take your time.
14.5% alcohol by volume.

Lovely treat brought back by a friend from a vacation in Portugal. Super unique, even as far as amber wines go. Deep, complex, intense; spiced strawberry balsamic atop a vanilla custard. — a year ago
