Impossible not to like this Margaret River Cabernet from Robert Oatley, a bright, fresh and compact example of the variety with good concentration to the fruit and a satisfying herbal, mineral and tannic edge. This got better with air, showing best on the second night having popped and poured on the first. A wine for early drinking, but an impressive one at that. — 3 years ago

Nice Merlot. Mellow and smooth. Very drinkable. — 2 years ago
Deep ruby (almost purple) color. Bright red berry fruit aromas with hints of fresh rose petals. Very Ripe raspberry and blueberry flavors. Supple and fresh. Soft tannins and light bodied. Touch of spice on the lively finish. This one can handle a bit of a chill. — 3 years ago

This 44% Grenache/42% Syrah/14% Mourvèdre is (forgive for the basicness of the word, but it’s true) delicious. One of those blends you really pick up each of the grapes’ best offerings. Plummy dried purple fruit and fresh red plums mingle with black olive, meeting floral hints, all ballasted with earth and minerality. The nose is rather enchanting. The tannin/alcohol/acid balance is appreciated. It is warming, spicy, and lifting, but with saline notes on top of tobacco. And punches WAY over its weight for the price point. — a month ago
