Poggi Del Sole

Vigneti del Sole

Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio 2023

Surprisingly delicious. Bartlett pear, wax, lemon - bright flavors slightly tart. Worked in many levels. — a month ago

Nice representative amarone - dark ruby coloration. Cherry and spices on the nose. Cherry, prune, spice and chocolate on the palate. Full bodied and rich with a decent finish. — a year ago

Poggi Reali

Greco di Tufo 2018

Very delicious Italian white paired with sea scallops and linguini. Basically a scampi. Crisp minerality. Would buy again very approachable and enjoyed by a wide variety of drinkers. — 3 years ago

Belatedly and quietly. OK, good, but not quite together or nor aged enough. — 7 months ago

Sasso di Sole

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

Dinner party so no formal notes. Entering its prime drinkability window. Really nice balance and freshness to go along with the ‘15 depth. — 8 months ago

Grotte di Sole Red Blend

Fruit forward. Bags of cherries and blackberries. Wonderful wine that is easy to drink. Little acidity. This wine knocks it out of the park (as the Americans say). — 2 years ago

Guido Marsella

Poggi Reali Greco di Tufo

Complex. Nice core of orchard fruit, prominent apples, complimented by stone, salt, and maybe a tad of white pepper. Plus, smoke, rose, and grass. Great structure, silky texture, soft on the palate, nice backbone. Very alluring. — 3 years ago

Bricco al Sole

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Dark ruby core with a garnet rim. The nose is full of aromas of dried cherry, violets, rose petals and leather. Dark cherry, cranberry and raspberry fruit flavors. Hint of black pepper on the short finish. Medium bodied with light tannins and mouth watering acidity. No evidence of oak aging. Basic “pizza wine,” but quite gulpable. Excellent QPR. — 7 months ago

Monte Maletto

Carema Sole e Roccia Nebbiolo

This can easily go up in score, pretty young but did great over 5 days tapped twice with a coravjn and then cork pull the last day.

Outside of the OG Ferrando, and there is not much else bottled here outside of them and Produttori, outstanding first try of this one.
