A very solid yet obtuse version of Aglianico compared the 2014 I had recently. This was much more similar teroldigo than the Nebbiolo-styled offering I experienced. Yellow plums and a range of stone fruit, especially the fragrant skins, and excellent wet stone minerals, like a very clear cool country pool in the morning. Very round mouthfeel, round acids like green grapes, gooseberry, rounded out with kiwi. It’s super green and yellow in tasting color spectrum, somewhat violet purple in a synesthesia way. Ripe lemon, tangerine and lime pith encircle a warm tropical melange. There are endive sentiments and echoes of ocean brine.
lemon is a big player on the palate, showing three faces; zest essence and racy fruit. A touch of lime keeps it clean and the salinity brings it all home. What it lacks in complexity it doubles down on in subtlety. Def for lighter seafood dishes that need to brighten.

It is dark purple in color. There are black fruit aromas in the nose, high tannin, rich, cherry, plum, blackberry aromas on the palate. There are vanilla, cedar and pro aromas coming from the barrel.
It is suitable for aging.
