Ripper Paso Robles Grenache 2010

May have waited a little too long for the 2010, but still nice. Label has seen better days as well! — 8 months ago

My first extended barrel age bottle from Booker to try. I tried this at pop, then about 4hrs later, and saved a glass for the next day. This was pretty open at pop but seemed to be best after it had been open a few hours (didn’t notice any sort of improvement/decline the next day). The aromatics here were floral (red and purple flowers/potpourri), baking spices (cinnamon) and fondue dipped cherries. It is deceptively dense while sporting a unique elegance about it. Kirsch liqueur, spicy rhubarb, and grilled plum are accompanied by sandalwood to round out the finish. I enjoy more use of whole clusters in these type of wines, but this is pretty delicious for the style. — 4 years ago

@Paul T- Huntington Beach : Some are resting in the wine fridge and some are in the offsite storage locker. I want to pop one soon, but I know it will be too early!

Adelaide HIlls Syrah 2013

The 2014 Jimmy Watson winner, and what a ripper it is. Needed a decant and a good splash to open up and reveal all the blue and black berry fruit and spice that made this such an enticing wine in its youth. Elegant, savoury and delicious! — 2 years ago

Not too jammy. But strong fruit without being sweet. — 4 years ago

Vertigo Paso Robles Grenache Blend 2010

Wow. 10 years has really mellowed the Ripper. Soft & supple, lots of raspberry. Almost no acid or tannin left. I was looking for something bolder for tonight, but I love this for who it is. ❤️ — 4 years ago

Ripper San Diego Pale Ale

Wouldn’t call it a session, but what a well balanced pale w/ a distinctively citrusy jib. — 6 years ago

Oublié Red Rhone Blend

Had at a tasting at Booker. Preferred the 2018 Ripper. But still a very nice wine. — 3 years ago

45% Mourvedre, 35% Grenache, 20% Syrah

Winner for imported Mourvèdre dominate blend under $15 (14.99).

Dark Fruit in the realm of plum and black cherry, med+ acidity, fine med+ tannin. Have to decant, its a ripper without breathing. (Hour will do)

Single Block Release 864 Drive Block Funder & Diamond Vineyard Chardonnay 2014

Ripper Oz Chard. In a nice drinking window now but it’s acid spine gives the impression that it will still be in great shape in a few years time. Great stuff. — 5 years ago

Chardonnay

Ripper Chardonnay. Polished and complex. Seamless and generous stone fruit with soft citrus frame and tail. Integrated oak. Immensely satisfying after a busy busy night. Thumbs up from all the MH crew. 👍🏼👍🏼 — 7 years ago
