2006 Rubissow Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Lush, expansive nose. Dark red and black fruits on the palate. Pencil lead and road tar abound. Dense and brooding. Outstanding. — 10 years ago
Surprised by ALDI again! Good wine for the price for sure! Would buy again! — 3 years ago
The nose has a pleasing off quality of a much older wine. Rotting wood and dried tomatoes come to mind, but there is also ripe red fruit and some brightness. Good acidity and fine tannins with some receding fruit in the pallet. Less structured than a Bordeaux, but still a big wine. — 6 years ago
2014 - With aeration, luscious tight dark mountain fruit bouquet, great body, long smooth finish; even better after breathing for an hour; better to have decanted; solid! — 5 years ago
It won the battle of 2004 Napa Cabs by beating out Rubissow. Classic Corison Cab! Bottle was open for an hour for air. Had that distinct, fruit forward flavor. Refined yet deep. I could easily pick this out from a blind tasting as it is so unique. Great juice!!

I won a bet and got some wines from my friend Geoff at Fresno State. This is the first one I’ve cracked open. Has the right Zin color with a deep purple almost black hue and a perfect ruby edge. Smells like blackberry jam, creosote and hot wet rocks. Maybe just a hint of some chemical solvent or thing from paints. Flavors are on point and in the pocket for Amador style Zin. Blackberry, Cherry and Huckleberries meets mocha and smoke. This is barbque and summer pies wine. Zingy and crystalline. Not syrupy or extra dense like Old Vine Zin in Lodi can be. This is an amazing start in my Fres-Yes wine winnings! — 12 days ago
