Martin and Nancy Smith's favorites. Quite smooth. — 9 years ago
After we had the arbor roberts' griffi's lair, the friendly somm at Bowery meat co recommended this red. Always great to have wine from Justin Smith's vineyard and this is made by someone who worked with him at Saxum. Rich, dense, plush, and the complexity and acidity I associate with this vineyard. — 9 years ago

Excellent, crisp cider. Went well with popcorn. But what doesn’t? — 8 years ago
Tasted the B. Leighton at K Vintners. B. Leighton is made by Charles's Smith's Wine Director Brendon Leighton made in conjunction with Charles. On the notes, sweet blue fruits and mixed dark berries leap out of the glass. Spices, loamy soils, dark florals and purple florals. The palate is M body with just M+ tannins. It starts with ripe, elegant, blue fruits, blackberries, dark cherries, plum, black raspberries, strawberries and again the heat intensity spices overlay the fruits. Loamy soils, soft volcanic soils, black tea, violets, red rose petals, perfect round acidity and lean, elegant, beautiful Burgundian finish. Really enjoyed all the nuances this wine offered. — 9 years ago

Off-the-wall Blanc de Blancs face off.
South Africa vs New Mexico.
Graham Beck's 2011 Premier Cuvée comes from the best blocks in Robertson with half being fermented in barrel. Baked Granny Smith's, toasted almond, and a yeast component that resembles something from the origin of the méthode. Excellent finish that has depth and complexity, while still being bone dry. — 9 years ago
@Mike Smith's Syrahs with a couple years on them are just stellar. The hard part is keeping them tucked away that long! — 10 years ago
Sitting here with Danny & Lance marveling on how delicious this Zin is, and loving the fact that it's on special at $150 here at Smith's — 10 years ago

Mmm.. single vineyard Syrah named after Charles Smith's cat.. and for good reason - this thing purrrrrs. The nose is awesome and screams old world Syrah - roasted herbs, jalapeño, black licorice, mushroom, brambly black fruit and mint, all enveloped by waves of hickory smoke and charcoal. Seductively smooth and inviting on the palate. Not overtly heavy, but packs just the right amount of punch with some soft minerality and refreshing acidity. Great wine, well worth the money. — 8 years ago
Same Oakville Vineyard as Maybach Materium, Love Mike Smith's wines at Mark Carter's Winery! — 9 years ago
So, this was DELICIOUS. In all honesty, I know people have recommended a super long decant, but even at the hour mark, this wasn't nearly as tight and abrasive as I expected. You're definitely not popping and pouring this, but there is a nice elegance to this wine. Gorgeous nose...blackberry pie and vanilla. Can definitely get Mike Smith's style as it wasn't too light or overly heavy...the body and structure to this felt perfect. I got a ton of blackberries, cassis and a touch of clove. Thinking I should go back and get more of my allocation. @Greg Ballington @David L @Martin G Rivard @Ron R @Paul T , y'all were the ones who put this on the map for me and your scores pushed me to grabbing one. THANK YOU! — 9 years ago
Young, but circumstances be as they may...
Had to open one, very deep concentrated dark black fruit. Tannins present & are not overwhelming in this big wine. As always, opened nicely on day 2! Save em' for 3-4 years if you can; gotta love Mike Smith's efforts with all Carter's wines! Cheers!? — 10 years ago

Samuel Smith's Organic Pale Ale is a nice pint. Amber coloured with a good but not over frothy bread. Bready, malty, and with a hint of caramel complimented by light carbonation.
A good traditional pale ale from one of England's oldest and finest brewers. — 3 years ago
