Showed very well at 8 years old. Always fun to taste the older Southold wines from their time back on Long Island. — 9 months ago

Texas white! This was really funky on opening. Good lemon flavors with peel and juice. Definitely a bunch of earth and funk. Some tropical notes. Overall I think it’s good although orange wines are something I don’t necessarily seek out. — 3 years ago
Dense dark ruby, nose of leather, spice, brambly berry. Depth and richness on the tongue, notes of spice, black cherry, bramble, cola. Lingering, prickly finish with effervesence and dark fruit.
Perhaps more balanced and mature than montgs ago, should continue to develop. — 3 months ago
Bought at the winery in 2021 just as things started to lift for COVID, and we brought our dog Murph along. This has sat for a bit, with three sediment coating the inside of the bottle, and is starting to show some age, with a pale red, somewhat fig color, with amber notes and bricking to the edges. The nose is tart, with more hints of fig, iron/blood, and a little iodine, with some softer fig newton and dark plum notes to finish. The palate is still acidic, with a little smoke or charcoal, super ripe strawberries, star anise, grapefruit, butterscotch, some iodine or apple cider vinegar, grandma’s fruit chew gummies, some iron and age elements of amber and velvet present at the finish. I keep coming back to this one. Had it with a spicy chicken and broccoli stir-fry while listening to a live recording of Radu Lupu playing a Bach prelude & fugue (BWV 867). Each made the others more enjoyable. — 6 months ago
Pale straw/gold, with crustals on the cork; tart apple (not surprising given the crystals) and baking spice in the nose; full, silky mouthfeel with sour apple predominating; decent finish given this is a ‘22 being drunk in April ‘24, lingering puckery tart notes. Had with pasta and homemade marinara, the body and tartness stood up well. — 7 months ago
Will be sad to have my last bottle of this! Drank over bday weekend 35. Delicious — 2 years ago

Inky deep purple; leather, violets, red spice (?!), blueberry on the nose; notrs of dried black cherry, olive, cinnamon, lightlyvearthy; smooth, not showy, great balanced acidity and long dusty warm tannins. Finish gives a subtle warming spiciness with no tart bite. Overall, warm glowing attractive and down to earth. Had it with pan-grilled polenta, with carrots, red and poblano peppers, baby onions, and broccolini - middle Asian spices and a bit of homemade marinara — 2 months ago
