Stunning nose. Caramel, honey, butterscotch, white chocolate, sultana, so complex. Just stunning. Peaches. Apricots. In their juices. Mushroom. So so complex. Brown sugar. Palate is luscious, racy and super clean. Nimble and elegant this is decidedly old school Auslese. Balance is superb. Nose gets Smokey with air. So precise. Unreal crystalline structure and dazzling purity. Very young, very fresh bottle of this. My best! — 5 years ago
Luscious, apricot, honey, sultana, with nice balance and long finish — 7 years ago

Strong and spicy and deep and complex. It is fruitier and more aromatic than scotch but also more elegant. Not sure Id pay hundreds for a bottle. Fruity palate with prunes, Corinth raisins and sticky toffee pudding. Palate: Dark chocolate and over-ripe plums. A little sultana character, cocoa butter and spice. Finish: SPICY, vanilla-led finish with all kinds of dark fruits. Hennessy XO if you want something stronger and dynamic; Remy Martin XO if you want a smooth and mellow ride. — 3 years ago
Ripe pear, stewed pear, sultana raisin. Vanilla. Thai basil. Toffee. Subdued notes of oak. Very well balanced acidity to go with such rich fruit notes. — 6 years ago
Smooth, rich flavours of dark red fruit and sultana raisins. Soft tannins. Even better when aerated. — 7 years ago
Riper than any other heredia I've had. Stewed plum, tea, black cherry, beautifully long finish of raspberry, cranberry and some game. Must have been warm cause there's like some sultana and almost some heat — 8 years ago
Wow! Fruitcake, tamarind, sultana, graphite. So concentrated, beautiful age, timed perfectly. — 4 years ago
Lovely tropical fruit notes, with butter, sultana raisins orange juice, lime and mocca coffee. Drinks like a 2003 rather than a 2013. — 6 years ago
At aprox. 22 usd/17 gbp, this wine is a real garbain.
Mature, intense and concentrated with a great complexity ranging from honey, dates, treacle, glue, sultana raisins, nut meg and vanilla.
The alcohol is there, but mellowed with time, acts as a lift for the aromas rather than being a burden.
With a vivid acidity, it is a real show of elegance and power that does wonders in food pairing!
