Lovely Carignan Rosé from a mid-century planting of dry-farmed, head-pruned vines in township of Talmage..hand harvested & whole cluster pressed...( per label)!
Not having any experience with Carignan I have no comparison!
Light orange in color!
On the nose Watermelon..sour Jolly Ranchers..herbs and Kiwi.
Tastes of orange..nectarine...watermelon and minerals.
Presents with a medium body...served very slightly chilled. Paired with Basil infused Tuna salad...very nice!
First purchase from Wine Bid...I think if you keep wine prices moderate...you can find some great deals despite 17% mark-up!! — 6 years ago

Really like this one. Got at Costco. Notes from the internet:Our Estate Blend hails from the Talmage Bench region of Mendocino County. Previously farmed by four generations of the Giannecchini family, this vineyard was planted sometime between 1910 and 1920. The gravelly, loam soils and ideal climate contribute to the production of these ultra-premium wine grapes. There's something magical about old vine Italian varieties planted by California pioneer grape growers. The wines are bold, beautiful, dense and truly express the terroir. This wine pays homage to Mendocino's Italian grape growing heritage. The acid draws a clear focused line across the palate reminiscent of the Old World, with firm tannins marking it Californian. It has aromas of cherries and red fruits surely to delight any meal.68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Sangiovese,10% Merlot19 months oak aging33% new oak, French & AmericanpH 3.74Total Acidity 0.66Alcohol 15% — 10 days ago
