Mellow, a bit sweet, reminiscent of cherry truffles when first opened, gaining depth after breathing to reveal subtler notes of leather and pomegranate. — 11 years ago
Sweet, cherry flavours, floral secondary aromas of violet, also tertiary leather, smokiness. Long lasting smooth finish. Medium to high acidity.
Provencal and mountainous, sunny yet cool, the quality of this superb terroir is thanks to 5 key elements that give their names to the 5 cuvees of Saint Jean du Barroux: La Source (spring), L'Argile (clay), La Pierre Noire (black stone), Le Microclimat (microclimate) and La Montagne (mountain).

Loving my off-vintage classifieds, particularly on the eve of a Snow Day. Lovely integrated savory fruit cedar jus. Lovely, seamless drink. With steak a la David Tanis. — 8 years ago

Very well balanced Bordeaux blend. Very drinkable and delightful with grilled ribeyes followed by brownies. Tanis were subtle, but the wine wasn’t at all thin or weak. For an impressive introductory Bordeaux under $20, get some at Trader Joe’s while it last. UPDATE: TJs is no longer carrying this wine. Whatever stock they had was cleaned out after an Instagram post. Most Margaux wines are at least $30 and up to several hundred dollars. At $14.99 a bottle, this will be missed. RIP. — 3 years ago
