Tenuta Di Carleone

Caparsa

Riserva Caparsino Chianti Classico Sangiovese 2019

Nice radda Chianti riserva but at this point at least not worth the $45+ price point over things like Istine or Tenuta Carleone at ~half the price or Boncie il Cinque at about the same price. Maybe in several years if it evens out? Gave it 3+ hours of air. Really a wonderful nose but the fruit doesn’t express that well and the tannins are a bit muddled. Nice refreshing acid on the finish though. — 13 days ago

I think you have erred in identifying this wine. Could you recheck it for me? — 4 years ago

Il Randagio Merlot Cabernet Franc 2022

Good p/q. Interesting wine - fresh, good acidity, some whole bunch. Complex@but in a simple way - all primary fruit and def for drinking now. — 3 months ago

Tenuta di Carleone

Pianvecchio Chianti White Blend 2020

Tenuta di Carleone

Rosato 2019

Tenuta di Carleone

Chianti Classico Sangiovese

Bright cherry fruit, medium bodied, some earth, and structured tannin. Nice acid for food, more fruit forward than other chiantis I’ve tried. — 9 months ago

Tenuta di Carleone

'Uno' Toscana Sangiovese 2018

Nice wine but actually didn’t enjoy it as much as either his Il Guercio or the more entry level Chianti Classico. I think this is mostly just too young, and the tannins are quite tight with keeps the fruit somewhat inaccessible. Still clearly very nice with nice pure cherry and strawberry on the nose and great tension and acid. — 4 years ago

Tenuta di Carleone

Il Guercio Toscana Sangiovese 2017

Revisiting one of last years true revelations the 2017 Tenuta di Carleone Il Guercio, which at my very first encounter became a new favourit.
Sangiovese in its purest of forms, so vivid, so transparent yet so unique.
A highly defined nose of crushed, fresh but ripe red berries, followed by lavender and a perfumed incense character over a pronounced gravely carpet. Stunning texture on the palate with superfine but ever present tannins and a piercing acidity that carries the fruit through a long finish. A mesmerizing wine where there is a high change of getting lost in the glass. Paired with braised pork shoulder and tomato jus.
