Nom. A delightful Portuguese Douro for Steak Night (aka any night I feel like grillin'). Tasty dark fruit with a hint of brightness and solid but not overpowering tannins. May get even better as it opens; it's got that slight nip about that hollers, "Dang it Matt! Let me breathe, gol dern it!"
Why it sounds like a grizzled 1890's prospector, I've no idea. — 7 years ago
Notes of cherry, vanilla, almond (clafoutis?) on the nose, medium alcohol. High amount of oakiness, big mouthfeel. Full bodied. Dark berry flavor, leather, mineral, cardamom, other spices. — 11 years ago
