Lovely in the glass. Red with a blush of plum. Nose is very interesting. Hint of funk. Zinjammy, and smoky. Little bit of mineral oil or linseed oil. Flavor is spectacular. Pure fruit. Tastes very true to the varietal. Pretty tart. Plenty of tannin too. For an under $10 Coastal style Zin, this is a steal. — 7 years ago
Maybe a bit more age than you might normally do for this, but I kind of forgot it on the rack. Hint of a rust edge on the ruby red color. Smells like old books, and preserved sweet black cherries. Maybe a hint of cola. Still Coke after it’s lost the carbonation. Flavors are very aged wine. Leather and more cola. Maybe a hint of Dr. Pepper. Still holds an acid streak and plenty of drying tannins to finish. Like bit of baked goods. Like good pastry with a blackberry cream center. This is interesting stuff. Great with food including fresh heirloom tomatoes both raw and cooked. Just a bit over aged. I’ll have to return to Viano for a younger bottle. — 10 months ago

Very good, color was just ok — a year ago
Validigue not petite. Nice herbal and cranberry juice nose. Flavors are funky and unique. Excellent unique stuff from Contra Costa County. — 2 years ago
Basic and simple label. No extras. Rust edged ruby colored in the glass. Aroma is unique. Old books in a wood paneled room meets well made finished compost with a splash of cherry preserves. Flavors are cooked a bit, but not overly oxidized. Plenty of the cherry. Black cherry jam. Savory streak. Complex finish with some minty zip. This is fairly smooth and elegant. Low alcohol of 13%. Very much an Italian style like good chianti or clean Barbera. Great red vino at a very good price. — 5 years ago

Basic no frills label. Got it at the winery. Pretty dark color. Aroma is rocks and dry lumber in the sun. Dark berries. Flavors are more subtle and elegant for Petite Sirah. It’s got a freshness and complexity that’s nice. — 19 days ago
