Deep ruby in color; smoke, cigar box, and black cherries on the nose; medium acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like hibiscus, cherries, plums, and a little eucalyptus with a long finish. I didn't think I would like this wine based on the aromas, but I am really enjoying it. — 4 months ago
At Vientiane Café with crew 6-19-24 and what a terrific wine for the food. Amarone from Pino just so a couple dishes but this worked all around. Leftover lasted days. Classic straw minerals acidic backbone and long finish. — 3 months ago
En-magnum and opened for my baby boy’s first birthday, this Becker was a hit with the crowd. I thought it could have been better though. Frankly, this had a little more petrol note than I’d like, but it still showed excellent energy. Earthy, salty, powerful, and laser-sharp. Hope to try a better sample down the line. — 9 months ago
Absolutely wonderful bottle! Minerals, salt, hints of lemon and soft fruit. If you’re even in Madison, WI be sure to hit up my friend Andrea at Square Wine. Thoughtful collection of great wine with this being an example, can never go wrong. — 3 months ago
Compared to the last Becker dry Spatlese tasted, this was less inviting: a bit more mineral & stony, with none of the fruit flavors associated with Riesling to be found. Very chiseled & imagine needs time in bottle/ long decant. You can still taste the precision though. — 7 months ago
"This Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah blend contains essences of chocolate, spice, cassis and dried fruit.". Wonderful Texas Hill Country wine. — 2 years ago

Here’s a curveball. It opens up to soaked wet corn notes and evolves to plush red fruit on the palate; good backbone, firm tannins, full bodied, high alcohol, big, bold and yes, (Malbec) is bigger (when made) in Texas. — 25 days ago
