At Sama Sama in Santa Barbara. Excellent really! 50/50 blend in 2024 of Grüner and Riesling. Graham did a great job with this one. Galloni seems to consistently like this one as well. Floral and tropical. Just awesome with asian food. An artist at work. Herbaceous undertow, faint touch of pineapple, apple, 🍏, some lemon, tangerine oil. — 4 months ago

We tasted a lot of wine at Merry Edwards. The new winemaker, Heidi von der Mehden, even popped in to say hello during the tasting. I will wait to review the rest of what I ordered as I open them, but this was my wine of the tasting for me. I have enjoyed every vintage of Olivet Lane that I have tried thus far, and this was no exception. This wine was full bodied, ripe fruit, and push mouthfeel. I tend to like Olivet Lane after its had a few years of age — really all of her wines are better with a little age IMO. — 4 years ago

This really benefitted from being open two days. It brings the little acidity this year off “Der Ott” offers more to the front. That results in a better balanced wine.

Semillon from the interior of South Africa from Eben Sadie, one of the best whites from SA that I have ever had. Tons of acidity and freshness, lots of density but light on its feet. Pretty tightly wound, try this in a few years…3-5 from vintage date should be ideal. — 5 years ago
