Fresh, zippy, mineral.
Quite shy on the nose, with some very shy white peach & lemkn but with some nice mineral, wet sand notes. A slight hint of natural funkiness, too.
On the palate this shows nice breadth, a slightly creamy mouthfeel yet with a hint of a tannic frame, zippy acidity.
Almost no fruit yet still enticing & delicious. Highly food friendly. — 3 years ago
Entry level from Seckinger, showing what new & exciting in Pfalz. Slightly funky and rough around the edges this shows lovely aromas of bruised apple, underripe peach pure with a lemony-flinty freshness. Racy acidity and stony minerality plus a salty tang give this an enticing character and dangerous drinkability. Delicious stuff. — 5 years ago
A more modern, slightly funky approach to Chardonnay from the Seckinger brothers.
Limestone, used wood aging, slightly reductive in the nose with popcorn/sesame reduction, a touch herby plus a bit of ripe pear in the backdrop.
On the palate this is much more Chardonnay, overripe lemon, melon & a bit of pineapple, limestone minerality bringing freshness. Nicely balanced and with good purity even if not too much depth.
Needs a bit of fresh air on opening to let go of the reduction (2023 vintage!) but highly drinkable and only 12.5% alc, so quite safe.
A nice one for dipping but also holds its own with food. — 6 months ago
Cloudy pale yellow, v. expressive & aromatic but not on the fruit side.
Summer meadow, dried grass, bruised apples, fresh Mandarine peel. Funky, wild, so fresh & juicy!
On the palate this is equally funky, a bit cidery yet has brilliant balance. Great flow & energy, a touch of tannins, a spicy finish.
Definitely unorthodox yet sooo drinkable. The Seckinger brothers have done it again!

Muted & a bit yeasty. V. Linear. A bit disjointed in the palate? A bit funky? Green fruit with gooseberry & kiwi. Great drinking but not very Chardonnay. Not convincing. — 2 years ago

Beautifully aromatic with nice evolution.
Rich yet with such amazing precision.
Ripe yellow apples & ripe peaches with a touch of honey but also cool, stony, spicy minerality. The core is unmistakably mineral & taut with a layer of ripe fruit on top.
On the palate similar - rich yet precise, brilliant purity & great depth. Mineral, juicy, rich. A very complete, enticing Riesling.
