This is a wicked wine. Medium red/medium garnet. Savory wine for sure. Nose is majority meat ( maybe some beef that’s been left in the sun, or some smoked bacon ), black tea, sour cherry, plum, earth, poo, some floral notes. Palate follows, meat and black tea, strawberry, sour cherry. All of the Cayuse has this similarity for sure. Horsepower Sur Echalas light. — 5 years ago
Absolutely great breakfast/brunch wine. Fruit forward nose of overripe strawberry compote, raspberries, sea air and some citrus zest over a pale redddish-raspberry color. Effervescent, medium bodied, and dry, with prominent zesty red berry fruit, and refreshing finish. — a year ago
Wicked! Savory, notes of Sherry, red berries, low sulfur. 12.5 abv. — 5 years ago
Pre-Labor Day festivities with friends.
Stinky barnyard, new leather, dried cherry, wicked finish, still years to go, more notes later...
48 Hour Update:
Nose has ripe cherry syrup, moist earth, dry tree bark, ripe black cherry, ripe blackberry, light star anise and roasted meats.
Palate has ripe black cherry, cherry jam, dusty blackberry, light cedar notes, smoked and charred meats, dry earth and a very sappy finish that runs very long. Tannins are in a beautiful spot right now, they do not get in the way of the beautifully complex flavors, but just a gentle complement. Future bottles can be 2021-23. — 5 years ago
Wicked Nebbiolo.
Earthy… some tobacco. Leather. But still delicate. — 3 years ago
Wicked nose. Tropical but layered with savoury spice, lemon, stones. The acidity drives this wine forward, but it swirls, through waves of citrus, peach, and judicious oak. This really benefited from air. After 30-45 mins a grippy, mineral structure revealed itself, balancing it out and sharpening its focus. The finish is outstanding. A real gem. — 5 years ago
